Scandinavia - a picturesque land of pine forests, lush green meadows and snowy plains, populated by gentle, peace-loving folk who... BANG!! PHAUS!! (Finnish for 'Who put that B****** tree there!!!'...) Yeahh bay-bee!! Those crazy rally addicts from chassis-smashing land are at it again in Crash Kings Rallying 4. Throughout the mid-Nineties, our brave (mad?) cameramen spent many an hour dodging the battered, motorised bullets that compete in Finland's numerous championship events and historic rallies (plus some from Sweden) and, as ever, their footage includes an extra large 'oops!' factor. When these guys lose the plot (which is often) there's plenty of shattered glass, crunched bonnets, mashed bumpers and flying metal. In short, these cars are surely destined for the wrecker's yard. But then, whaddya know? A group of fans leap from the trees, turn the battered vehicle the right way up, point it in the right direction and off they go again! On-board camera shots really come into their own here, allowing you to feel every bump and camber as the cars shoot through forest, snow and grassy paddocks (try and stick to the road boys...). Most of the cars are true rally 'classics' from the days when grunt meant more than glamour, but there's also some of the Big Guns of Group B whose legend lives on - though maybe not quite as they envisaged! So grab yourself a nicely chilled Scandinavian refreshment, throw another log on the fire and prepare for sixty minutes of gentle entertainment - NOT!!
