The only thing you need to reset your "empty" cartridge is a "full" one
(and your printer). When I say "full" cartridge it means that the Intellidge
chip says that it is full.

Push the yellow button and change to the "full" cartridge when it arrives
to the left. Push the button again so the cartridge returns to the right.

Now you have to find the little lever that makes it impossible to move the
print head by hand. Move the lever towards the front of the printer until it
is below the surface. The picture below shows the lever of a 1270.

In the 790 the "white lever below the cartridge holder" is a "black lever
above the cartridge holder" (a tip from the Guestbook by Ramon)

Slide the cartridges to the left (normal change position). And change to the
"empty" cartridge. This cartridge can be refilled or maybe you just want to
use the rest of the ink that is left  when the chip says it is empty. Then slide
the cartridges all the way back to the normal "standby" position.

That's it. The ink level values from the "full" cartridge will be copied in to the
chip in the "empty" one.

I have only tested this method on my Epson 1270. But reports in my guest
book and discussion boards says that it works on the rest of the "chipped"
Epson printers. If you try this with success or failure please write a comment
in the guest book (other comments also welcome).
