LEPANTO 1566 January 1st 2005 Copyright Ludopress, Alea 22 page 12 (Lepanto). Published with permission. Note: the main goal of the scenario is historicity and not playability. The Lepanto Machiavelli scenario begins in 1566. Austria, Papacy and Venice have allied against the Ottoman. Miland and Florence are opposed to Austria, while Genoa keeps out of any alliance. Note that the single letter abbreviations for Florence, L, is the second letter of the name rather than the first to avoid conflicts with France. Special rules: The fortresses are used in this scenario. (If you do not use fortressess no autonomous garrisons are to be set up.) Florence, the Papacy and the Ottoman have two die rolls each for variable income. All other powers have one die roll each. Machiavelli 2 Assume that the initial treasury is any surplus remaining after the initial maintenance costs, else it is zero. Note: In the original text there are no provisions for play with the Mach2 map and rules, nor for play with less powers/players. Default victory conditions: The first player to control at least 15 cities and have control of at least two power's original home countries (eg: his own and one other player's) is declared the winner. ----- * Avalon Hill, Machiavelli and Diplomacy are trademarks of Hasbro Inc.
