NWoBHM or New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which that stands for, is a wave which took place in Great Britain under the years 1979-1984 (Many people has different opinions about when the period actually was) when many new Heavy Metal bands formed. The years after that (1985-87), is called "Post-NWoBHM". The leaders of the wave were Iron Maiden and Saxon for example. Some bands was very influenced by the blues music, which you can hear in bands like Handsome Beasts and Split Beaver.
