Vopnafjörður
We are off to the promised land! At least to Sweden. Me and Sunna will start our journey tomorrow, going to Reykjavik. Then fly, fly away to Stockholm on Wednesday.
Sunna and I will have fun, relax, eat and grow, both of us! Hehe...
So see ya, when we see ya!
My sister Malin has been here on her vacation and we have both acting "touristy" and visited Mývatn, Dettifoss, Vopnafjörðurs surroundings. It truly is beautiful here...
Check out new pics in "Vopnafjörður..." and of course "The cutest baby".
Enjoy...

Vopnafjörður

Today is Iceland's national day - Hip Hip!

But more importantly - Sunna had broccoli for the first time today. (yes, I am still very caught up in my baby.

We're experimenting with boiled and smashed vegetables and fruits. Soooooo much fun! Sunna eats everything that comes close to her mouth...

And a couple of days ago, Sunna got a boyfriend! My friend Ina gave birth to a little boy, so we can rest assure that Sunna will end up in a very international relationship (Ina is from Lettland).

Life is good, summer is still kind of cold. We have been working in the garden a lot, so when the sun shines at 11 at night, our garden looks magical!

Otherwise? Only a month until my sister Malin comes on a 10-day visit! Whoohooo!

Check out "The cutest baby" for more pictures on... the cutest baby!

In three days Sunna turns 3 months! I cannot believe it went so fast!

(I know everybody says that about kids, but I really mean it!)

MORE PICTURES!

To the right you can see Nenni and his best friend - the bike.

And my mom holding Sunna up in the air.

Check out "The cutest baby" and the "Vopnafjördur"-pages...

Vopnafjörður

And yes, her name is Sunna! Fiiiinaaallyyyyy we can use the name!

The christening went well. At the 29th of april we were at home and squeezed in about 16 people, including my parents all the way from Sweden.

The ceremony went perfect with a little Sunna who didn't say a word during the whole time.

And she didn't complain when EVERYBODY wanted to take pictures and/or holding her afterwards. But when everything settled and people began to have coffee and cake, she decided to go to sleep.

Can you get a more angel-like baby? I think not!

As I said, my parents were here for a week. They took the good weather with them - sun and really hot the whole time the day they came!

The same day they left, it started to rain and the weather has been shitty ever since.

So I've decided they have to move here.

Otherwise? Sunna is still a good, happy little girl who likes her milk, and the bottle which makes her bigger and bigger.

She drools constantly and makes little spitting sounds when she tries to "talk".

Her new hobby is to hit the toys in front of her when she's in the chair, and tries soooo hard to grab them...

It's so funny to watch!

May 16th we'll go to the midwife and measure her and she will also get her first vaccin-shot. Uss...

My new hobbies are crochet (virka, hekla) and sow. My mom brought me green sowingmachine which looks like it's from the '30s, but it has ALL original parts and not a scratch! Unbelievable!

So I'm keeping busy...

Check out the pictures on "The cutest baby".

I have no news... Not much is happening but life is good.

My parents are on the boat (Norræna) on their way over here! Right now they should be between Norway and Faroe Islands.

Nennis is home again and yes, he brought me a beautiful watch and about 10 kg of chocolate! I don't know what makes me happiest - Nenni being home, my watch or all the chocolate!

Of course our little angel got some clothes... She is now a Barcelona-Babe.

PLEASE check out the new page:

"The cutest baby".

I decided to erase the party-page, because we don't have many parties anymore.. hehe..

So instead, on people's demand I give you : loooooaaaads of pictures on our cute little girl!

Well, see ya'll!

Vopnafjörður

Our baby has turned 2 months old!

She is still a little happy angel who smiles a lot, sleeps alot and eats A LOT!

And when I have finally figured out her sleepinghabits, she changes everything and never sleep or sleep all day...

Everything to make life more exciting...

Nenni is now in Teneriffe with people from work... drunk as a skunk, falls in the pool on his way home from the pub, can't get up and so on, and on.

He better come home with big, expensive gifts for the both of us, or I'll never talk to him EVER AGAIN! (Like I could keep my mouth shut for more then half an hour).

Me, myself? Cleaning and organizing our home in time for my parents to come, and for the christening on the 29th.

I also find the time to take nice walks and learn how to chrochet (virka or hekla). And when my parents come, my mom will bring me a sowingmachine! I have already planned some stuff to sow.

I can't imagine to start working again! How will I have time with all my hobbies?!

Anyways, the angel is awake and need some love (and milk) before I go and get a haircut...

Now she is over 6 weeks! We went to the midwife yesterday to measure how big she was - 60 cm and 5,3 kg.
Prrrroud!!!
Now she is just one meter shorter then me!

We are all doing well! Our baby-girl eats and eats every second hour now. Then she sleeps for a maximum of 45 minutes at a time. And in between, she wants to be entertained. So my days are filled with thousands of little unfinished projects, since I always forget what I was doing...

My parents are coming april 24th and that week we'll have the christening - FINALLY!
It's so hard not to use her name, even if it sometimes feel a little wierd to say it. It's like it's not "stuck" to her yet... hard to explain.

I realised I'm so caught up in the baby that I haven't even mentioned my sisters!!
My two sisters Malin and Nina came to visit end of february for  4-5 days. It was really nice to have two people taking care of me, the baby AND the dishes...
Some pics are now in "Vopnafjördur and stuff".
And I haven't even said we finally have a new car!! Well, it's from -98, but it's new to us!
Nenni and his dad went to Akureyri and came home with our 4-wheel drive beauty!
I'm so happy that I don't have to worry about getting stuck in the snow all the time, or the car dying on me or that it just won't start!
Hmmm, I think I will name it!

And two weeks has passed and the little angel still eat, shit and sleep. In between she gives us smiles and charms everyone around her.
She has started to "talk" a little (when she  is 100% satisfied with life) and my world stops when I look at her.
We go out for walks almost every day, when the weather allows it.
I tried to take her out for awalk today, but the wind almost tipped the stroller over, so we went back and took the car instead.
Her cousin Harpa Lind, held her for the first time today. But my little angel took a huge, LOUD shit, so quickly she was back with me.

Life is good, even if I don't have time to take a shower and Nenni works 12 hour shifts...

And today our baby is 23 days old. She eats, sleeps, takes lots of dumps and is growing.
She is now 4730 grams and going strong!
(We are very proud of everything about her)

She has now been out walking in the stroller with her lazy-ass mom for the first time. She LOVES to be in her stroller where it's really nice and soft with a lambskin that keeps her warm.
She also like taking baths - she didn't say a word when we bathed her for the first time the other day.
Such a little angel.

Otherwise? We had BRILLIANT weather here yesterday. Sunshine, +5 degrees and no wind. We went out for a nice long walk and showed her off to everone that stopped to have a look.
Nenni was pushing the stroller the whole time, so all I had to do was concentrate where I put my feet. That can be a hard thing when your brain is in a coma from breastfeeding.

Well, time to start dinner before she wakes up and wants to eat. Again. And again. And again...

Tralalalaaa! We have the most beautiful, cutest, most clever baby on the face of the earth!
Nobody has ever had such a perfect baby!
Today she is 17 days old and she eats, sleeps, poops, and so on...
At night she usually sleeps between 5-8 hours and is still not screaming hyserically when she wakes up.
We are so happy and lucky!

Her name will be announced when she is christened, which will be in end of april. Until then, her name will be:
  • The baby
  • Lillsnuttan
  • Gumman
  • Stubbur
  • Nikulásdóttir

Now, time to go and watch her sleep. (Who needs t-v when you have a baby?)

Finally! She has arrived to us...
She was far too comfortable in the belly...
After 10 hours of contractions (thank god for painkillers) my lovely swedish-talking doctor decided a ceasarian.

Finally she was picked out of my belly.
Valentine's day (feb 14th)  at 20:50 she came: 4200 gram, 52 cm and very unhappy that we disturbed her peace.
It is not possible to describe the feeling when you get to see your baby the first time.

So here you have her - the angel!
The first pictures she is about half an hour old and the next she is one week old.
She is always happy, satisfied and absolutely an angel!
Now - naptime for us both!

And this will be the last time I write here as pregnant!
Tomorrow me and Nenni will go to Akureyri to wait for the baby to come out!
If we're lucky we'll have time to go shopping, go to the movies and maybe even to a resaturant!
As we all know, life, as we know it, is over the second you have a baby!
Nah, just kidding!

Anyways, I feel good, even though I'm tired and bored, but nothing worse then that!
Sooo, wish me luck! here we gooooo!!!

A week has passed and I've grown. I don't understand! HOW BIG CAN I GET?!
I just looked through my belly-pics from week 26 and it's ridiculous how much I've grown... Now I'm tired, big, I feel sick, annoyed, bored and just cannot wait until it's time (estimated date is in 19 days).
I feel like this will go on foreeeeever...

Otherwise, I AM happy, just a little sick of not being able to tie my own shoes without getting sweaty.
All of a sudden it got cold and we got snow in Iceland! Fun and pretty to look at, but not that fun to walk in when you are shaped as a whale.

Well, I'm out of things to complain about. See ya!

Vopnafjörður

Nenni turns 29 years old today. Congratulations to him!

My present to him was that I took a shower and got dressed BEFORE 2 o'clock today.

Not that he noticed, but I'll cook him dinner as well.

It's not so easy to buy a gift to someone who really doesn't give a shit about presents and stuff... and especially not easy when you live in a small place lika Vopnafjörður.

Anyways, we have booked a place to stay when we go to Akureyri on january the 25th. Only three weeks left! Hopefully the baby will not be too late, because there isn't too much to do in Akureyri except shopping, and we're not millionaires!

But it is getting closer! YIKES!

I have done everything an expecting mother would do: wash, iron and fold babyclothes. All the babystuff is in order, so all we need now is a baby!

Today I enter week 37. See my big belly to the right!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have survived both x-mas and New Year´s eve..

I've been eating, eating and NOT moving! Lovely...

It's been really great and relaxed.

My baby grows, kicks and gives me a little normal pain here and there, but overall I feel great! I'm big, happy and healthy. What else do you need in the world?

I got LOTS of gifts this year (as always, I am very spoiled) web-camera, headphones for my Skype and a remote control for the camera... I love hi-tech stuff...
